Enrollment Information for 2020-2021

If you have a student returning to our district for 2020-2021 or wish to enroll a new student, please see the information below pertaining to your family's situation for the start of next school year.

Returning Students: 

If your student attended a Southern Hancock school in 2019-20, re-enrollment information will be provided over the summer. There is no immediate action required at this time. Re-enrollment information will be provided to you via email and on the district's social media profiles during the summer.

New Move-In Students:

If you have moved into our district and wish to enroll your student at Southern Hancock for next year, please complete this registration form. Once complete, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to submit initial registration forms. Once these forms are submitted, the district will hold these until registration in the summer. Please see some initial information about your child's future school below.

The district map will help you determine which of our three elementary schools your K-4 student will attend.

All 5th and 6th-grade students will attend New Palestine Intermediate School. All 7th and 8th-grade students will attend New Palestine Junior High. All 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students will attend New Palestine High School.

Students Living Outside of our District:

CSCSHC is currently accepting Out of District Transfer applications for 2020-2021. Click here to download the transfer application packet.

Applications will not be considered unless all required information is included. The deadline for applications is July 24, 2020. The review process for applications will begin on March 6th, 2020. It may take up to 30 days to process your application.

Once completed, please return your application to the CSCSHC Administration Office. Send via email to Amber Rush at arush@newpal.k12.in.us or send by mail to PO Box 508, New Palestine, IN, 46163.

You cannot complete any other student registration until your application is approved.

Kindergarten Registration:

Thank you for beginning the process of enrolling your Kindergarten student with Southern Hancock Schools for the 2020-2021 school year. We can’t wait to meet your student! We understand this will be a different way of pre-registering students than many of us are used to. For the first time, we are completing Kindergarten registration digitally. 

Your student must be five years old on or before August 1, 2020, to be eligible for Kindergarten at Southern Hancock. If you live outside of our district, please submit an Out of District Transfer application before completing the registration for Kindergarten. If you have already submitted an out of district application, you still need to complete the Kindergarten registration for your future student.

Before you begin, you will need a digital copy of proof of residency, your student’s birth certificate, and immunization records. A photo of these items is acceptable. Here are instructions on how to upload these documents.

Families already enrolled in our Little Dragons Pre-Kindergarten program do not need to complete this pre-registration process. You will receive separate communication from your future school with registration instructions and enrollment forms to complete.

Pre-Kindergarten Registration:

Little Dragons Pre-Kindergarten registration is now open! Students must be 4 years old on or before August 1, 2020, to be eligible for Pre-Kindergarten at Southern Hancock. 

Little Dragons offers half and full-day options with before and after-school care options available.
